Lunchtime Run

I had plans for tonight so I decided to squeeze in a run at lunchtime. I’ve only just started training so no great milage for my mid week run. Was feeling surprisingly OK after last nights threshold. A beautiful sunny day, but icily cold. A quick 4.5miles up to Regents Park and back.

Whenever my training steps up, I inevitably get a lot hungrier, and  pretty much think about what will pass my lips next every 5mins. I have a pretty sweet tooth at the best of times, so I’m always craving something naughty.

I occasionally attempt some home baking, and when I do I try to search out a ‘healthy’ flapjack or a ‘marathon specific energy boosting’ muffin. We recently invested in Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s Vegetable book, and I like the sound of the below. An experiment for the weekend I think. Whether it falls into the healthy category I’m not sure, but I like Hugh, he seems wholesome, so surely his recipes are too…
